RFID technology that has been usually applied to identify products for different applications like warehouse management, shops, medicines, baggage in airports etc. can be now applied to the identification of underground assets

A new way to locate underground plastic pipes and conduits has been discovered with lot of benefits for public as well as for private companies, especially those dedicated to telecommunications, water and other similar services.

The Electronic Marking System (EMS) has been implemented with RFID technology and once placed near or above the buried facility it will help continue providing path location. Thanks to the wireless technology a signal with the exact location and route of the assets is transmitted to the reader.
